A Messy Cabinet Cleaned Out And Organized

During these last couple of weeks I cleaned  out one cabinet.

The cabinet is as tall as I am.  5″5.  It’s huge.

Below is a picture

It was a mess.

I took everything out and wiped down the shelves.  It took awhile.  Maybe 3 or 4 hours.  That’s why I kept putting it off.  I didn’t take as long as I thought it would.

I was able to let go of a couple of items.  I’m going to take them to the consignment store.

Here’s the final result

It’s easy to find things.

It makes me happy every time I look at it.

Fun Friday: A Bosses Day Present

As I was collecting money for my coordinator’s bosses day present a light bulb went on in my head.

I should be buying myself a bosses day present.

I am my own boss aren’t I?

I am still working with my first client. I have my 2nd client scheduled for Oct. 23 and I could have had another client but I’m going on vacation and she needed my services ASAP.

So even though I’m just starting out I am my own boss.

I’ve been working hard at getting my business off of the ground. Mostly by myself. There’s been some rough days, but all in all it’s been pretty darn good.

I stopped at the bank today to get money for my trip and the teller told me she liked my flyers and she needs my help with her clutter. That made my heart happy. She is my favorite teller and I’m more than happy to help her. Exciting!

Good things are happening. Things are coming together. It’s good!

I’m really proud of myself. I’ve grown alot. Tackled my challenges while moving forward.

Hell ya I’m a business owner!!!

I’ll let you know what i bought myself.

My First Client Was Awesome!

I had my first client a week ago Thursday and it went very well.

Her name was Sandy and she was super easy to work with.

She hired me to help her figure out what to do with the rest of her mom’s antiques. I made some suggestions on pricing and where to bring it.

I learned a lot.

I was there an hour and made $35.

I put the $5 on my bulletin board to remind me if there is one client there is more.

She’s going to call me when she is ready for phase 2.

I can’t wait!

Here’s My Flyer

My flyer is complete!

I am happy with the way it turned out! I like what it says and my logo.

I’m just not sure about the font. Is it too fancy? I know it doesn’t match my logo on the bottom of the page.

I’m not sure.

I was going to play around with the font after work tonight and try different fonts.

Here it is:

I know it has a couple of typos. I’ll change them later

So what are your thoughts?

Fun Friday: The To Do List For LYLO

I’m so excited.

The to do list for LYLO is long, but it’s going to be fun.

Don’t let me fool you there’s other emotions going on here.

Fear.

Excitement.

Doubt.

I’m feeling all of the emotions and letting them go.

Enough procrastinating.

Here’s the list of things to do:

Figure out logo and font of logo. This is going to be fun. I love going through the different font styles. I love how some are bold, some are curvy and fancy and some are just blah.

Figure out business cards.

Get a post office box.

Finish the details on my insurance. I have an appointment on April 15 (Good Friday) to pay for the insurance. This one is almost complete.

Put an ad on Craigslist.

Get the flyer ready and give to Tara. My real estate agent, Tara, is going to hand out business flyers for me. Isn’t that sweet? Maybe I will get my first customer through her.

Get a Tax ID no.

Figure out of a filing system for my business papers.

Figure out a system that lists all of my expenses and that stuff.

Figure out what I supplies (label maker, tape, etc.) I need

Get my client questionnaire finished. I want to have my clients fill out a questionnaire so I know their needs and can figure out action plan.

Figure out what I need for my first consult.

Find my first client.

Wow! That’s quite the list.

Today I’m working on the getting a post office box. I’ve already been to two post offices in different city/town and going to a 3rd today. Each post office has different prices for their boxes. I want to check out all three before I chose. $100 for the year. Not bad.

Anything I missed? Any suggestions?

Feel free to comment. I value your input.

Thanks!

Time To Redo My Cabinet

Maybe a year ago I cleaned out and reorganized the tall cabinet I have in my kitchen.

I looked at the cabinet today and realized the bottom shelf is a mess and needs to be cleaned out.

Two weeks ago we bought an air fryer and I put it in the closet underneath the steps.

Last week after using the air fryer I realized storing it in the closet wasn’t going to work.  I really want it in the kitchen where it is easily accessible.

That’s when I realized the tall cabinet would be perfect.

Okay. I’m going to start cleaning the cabinet out. Where do I begin?

The first thing I’m going to do is empty the clear container with the candy in it and bring the candy to work.  There is also a box of fancy chocolate and a valentine’s day heart box of chocolate that I will bring to work.  Someone will eat it.

I dont like fancy chocolate.  I’m a m&m’s kinda girl.

I’m returning the egg cartons to my neighbor.  She brings us fresh eggs every week.  I love her!

I’m tossing the box of Girl Scout cookies I hid from my husband last year.  They taste crappy.

I’m keeping the empty yoplait and sour cream containers and putting the  in the drawer they belong in.

For christmas last year we received hot chocolate bombs with candy to put in the hot chocolate and coffee cups which is pictured below. I’m tossing the bombs.   I’m putting the cups in the consignment box. The Christmas bags are going in the goodwill box.

I’m keeping the first stack of rubbermaid dishes, but the stack to the right are going.  I don’t use them and don’t think I will.  I’m dontating them.

The end result is below.

It looks much better and it only took 5 minutes.

Yes I bought new cookies to replace the yucky box.  No need to hide them.  My husband doesn’t like them Lol.

It’s all good.

My Office

One of my goals this month is to clean and organize my office.

Here’s what a mess it is.

My plan for this week is going through my desk and organizing my two drawers and cleaning off my desk so it will be easy to type my NaNoWriMo 1st draft.

I’ve been resting on the couch for most of the day. Too windy to cut down trees today. I haven’t rested in a sunday in weeks. It feels good.

I’m going to start typing my first day of 800 words soon.

I’m looking forward to working on this manuscript. It’s been swimming in my head for so long and needs to come out.

I can’t wait to see what it looks like at the end of the month!
