Fun Friday: Designing My Business Flyer

While I was sitting at the car dealer yesterday getting my oil changed I was working on my business flyer I wrote a couple of months ago.

Boring!

As I was researching business flyers (thank God for Google!) I realized how blah it was.

It needs to be better.

A lot better.

It needs to show more of who I am and what my talents are.

As I looked through other business flyers I started asking myself questions.

Why am I keeping myself small when I can be BIG?

Why can’t I draw or paint out my flyer on paper and let my ideas fly before putting it in the flyer?

Why am I not putting who I really am into what I am creating?

Why am I limiting myself?

These are the answers I’m getting in my head.

We aren’t those kind if people. We work in factories.

Who do you think you are?

You’re not a business person.

You’re not suppose to let your light shine. You’re suppose to be quiet in the corner.

Blah. Blah. Blah.

Screw those statements from my past. I’m not that person anymore

I am a business woman and I will be successful.

I am going to have fun inventing myself as I invent my business. (Love this statement)

I’m going to have fun creating my business flyer as I crush my old beliefs.

What are you having fun creating today?

Fun Friday: The To Do List For LYLO

I’m so excited.

The to do list for LYLO is long, but it’s going to be fun.

Don’t let me fool you there’s other emotions going on here.

Fear.

Excitement.

Doubt.

I’m feeling all of the emotions and letting them go.

Enough procrastinating.

Here’s the list of things to do:

Figure out logo and font of logo. This is going to be fun. I love going through the different font styles. I love how some are bold, some are curvy and fancy and some are just blah.

Figure out business cards.

Get a post office box.

Finish the details on my insurance. I have an appointment on April 15 (Good Friday) to pay for the insurance. This one is almost complete.

Put an ad on Craigslist.

Get the flyer ready and give to Tara. My real estate agent, Tara, is going to hand out business flyers for me. Isn’t that sweet? Maybe I will get my first customer through her.

Get a Tax ID no.

Figure out of a filing system for my business papers.

Figure out a system that lists all of my expenses and that stuff.

Figure out what I supplies (label maker, tape, etc.) I need

Get my client questionnaire finished. I want to have my clients fill out a questionnaire so I know their needs and can figure out action plan.

Figure out what I need for my first consult.

Find my first client.

Wow! That’s quite the list.

Today I’m working on the getting a post office box. I’ve already been to two post offices in different city/town and going to a 3rd today. Each post office has different prices for their boxes. I want to check out all three before I chose. $100 for the year. Not bad.
